Port Vila, Vanuatu – Tuesday 28 July 2026: The National University of Vanuatu (NUV) is proud to highlight the success of its Diploma in Information & Communication Technology (ICT) through the experience of Engineering Business Services (EBS), a leading ICT company in Vanuatu.
According to Mr Arnaud G., Director of EBS, the decision to recruit two second-year NUV ICT students before they had completed their studies was straightforward.
“They are competent,” he said. “The students demonstrated strong technical foundations, but more importantly, they understood the technologies and were able to apply them in practice. This enables us to develop them into professionals much more quickly.”
EBS provides services ranging from IT infrastructure and networking to software application development, IT project management, training, consulting, hosting and cloud services. The students first joined EBS during an optional industry placement undertaken at the end of their first year of study at NUV. Their performance during this internship enabled EBS to identify their potential early, maintain contact with them, and ultimately recruit them during their final internship.
The Director of EBS believes this reflects the practical quality of NUV’s ICT Diploma. “The students become autonomous very quickly under the supervision of senior technicians. Having them complete an internship after the first year allows us to identify tomorrow’s talent at an early stage.”
With the global ICT sector experiencing a shortage of skilled professionals for more than two decades, Vanuatu faces an even greater demand for qualified personnel. For EBS, investing in young ICT professionals is also an investment in the country’s future.
