Welcome to the National University of Vanuatu

Message from the Vice-Chancellor,

Mr Jean-Pierre Nirua

As Vice-Chancellor, I am proud to lead a university dedicated to academic excellence, innovation, and service to our nation and the Pacific region. The National University of Vanuatu (NUV) is committed to providing quality higher education and lifelong learning in both French and English, serving national, regional, and international students in an inclusive, supportive, and intellectually stimulating environment. Guided by our core values – including Integrity, Respect, Resilience, Excellence, Inclusion, Diversity, Research and Innovation – we strive to nurture leaders who will advance sustainable development, cultural pride, and global citizenship.

Our vision is to be the premier multilingual institution of higher education and training in Vanuatu and the Pacific. Through equitable access, academic and professional excellence, and effective student support, we aim to meet the needs of our labour market and society while preserving and promoting our unique cultural and environmental heritage. We embrace strong partnerships and a commitment to green, resilient practices, ensuring our growth benefits both our people and our planet.

Join us in building a just, healthy, wealthy, and educated Vanuatu – together shaping a brighter future for all.
