Course Description

This Online Diploma in Training & Assessment is designed for professionals seeking to advance their expertise in the Post School Education & Training (PSET) sector in providing and facilitating training in Vocational Education and Training (VET). It equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive training and assessment practices.

Through a blend of theoretical and practical learning, participants will develop the ability to:

  • Reflect on and improve their own professional practice to enhance learner outcomes.
  • Apply inclusive education principles and foster equitable learning environments.
  • Design, develop, and implement Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessments, as well as conduct assessments and moderation in line with national standards.
  • Plan and facilitate work-based learning that is learner-centred and adaptable to diverse needs.
  • Employ culturally appropriate teaching strategies that encourage critical thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address training needs for diverse groups, including learners with special or specific learning requirements.

Graduates of this Online Diploma in Training & Assessment will be prepared to take on roles as trainers, assessors, and learning facilitators within the PSET contexts, contributing to workforce development and community capacity building in Vanuatu and beyond.

Entry Requirement

Admission to the program requires students to have achieved:

  • Certificate IV or higher in specific trades or area of study
  • LLN skill level at Band 4 of the National Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Framework
  • At least 3 years of industry and/or work experience

Applicants who are unable to meet the above academic entry requirements, but who have adequate relevant professional experience of five years or more, and who have met the LLN entry requirements, and are able to demonstrate an ability to study at this level, may be allowed entry upon approval from the NUV Registrar.
