Port-Vila, Vanuatu – Monday, 22 September 2025: The National University of Vanuatu (NUV) proudly brought together former students on Thursday, 18 September 2025, to launch a new chapter in its history.
NUV extends its thanks to all students and alumni who attended and contributed to the event’s success. This inaugural gathering marks the beginning of an exciting journey to build the NUV Alumni Network. This platform will strengthen connections, create opportunities, and uphold the values that define the university.
During the evening, alumni registered to be part of the official NUV alumni database, an important step toward mapping the growing community of graduates. The event also provided an opportunity for open dialogue. Participants shared ideas on how alumni can support the university’s development, while also benefiting from continued engagement with NUV. A Graduates’ Tracer Study will be launched soon to provide valuable insights into alumni achievements and career paths.
NUV’s Vice Chancellor, Mr Jean-Pierre Nirua, expressed the enthusiasm of the university. He said, “The Alumni Network is a vital milestone for the National University of Vanuatu as it grows. It reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more connected community that promotes Vanuatu and NUV’s values in our graduates, supports professional development and shapes a positive mindset with good character profiling as a model for the younger ones coming behind. The Alumni network also helps to showcase the valuable contributions of our graduates to their professional environment and society at large. Affiliating with the NUV Alumni enables graduates to be part of the outreach network of the University that NUV can utilise in the future. This is just the beginning – we encourage all alumni to stay engaged, as more events and opportunities will follow in the future.”
