Port Vila, Vanuatu – Wednesday 11 February 2026: Last week, the National University of Vanuatu (NUV) brought together all lecturers for its annual Faculty Induction Day, marking an important milestone in preparation for the 2026 academic year.
The event welcomed both new and returning academic staff and provided a valuable opportunity to share key information on NUV services, academic regulations, teaching responsibilities, and the range of support units available across the University. Designed to strengthen collaboration and alignment, the induction also enabled staff to connect with colleagues and leadership ahead of the new academic year.
NUV’s senior leadership used the occasion to reaffirm the University’s mission, vision, and values, highlighting the vital role lecturers play in shaping student success and national development.
“Our shared vision is essential as we grow, so we remain committed to delivering quality, inclusive and relevant higher education for Vanuatu and the wider region,” said NUV Vice-Chancellor Jean-Pierre Nirua.
The Faculty Induction Day reflects NUV’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, professional development, and a supportive learning environment. By ensuring staff are well informed and connected, the University continues to strengthen its teaching and learning culture while supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
As NUV prepares for the year ahead, the University looks forward to working closely with its academic community to deliver high-quality education that responds to the needs of students, communities, and the nation.
