The Bachelor of Education (Inclusive Teaching) – In-Service extends its reach to qualified teachers who are already practising at various levels, including early childhood care and education (ECCE), and primary, and secondary education. Recognising the invaluable expertise and experience possessed by these educators, the programme offers tailored pathways for in-service teachers to enhance their competencies in inclusive education through specialised coursework and practical experiences. By providing targeted professional development opportunities to in-service teachers, the programme facilitates ongoing growth and refinement of inclusive teaching practices, thereby directly addressing the immediate capacity gaps within Vanuatu’s education system. The programme consists of 15 compulsory courses which are indicated in the table below.

Entry Requirement
Admission to the program requires students to have achieved:
- A diploma in ECCE/Primary/Secondary Teaching (with a minimum of 240 credits) from the Vanuatu Institute of Teacher Education (VITE) or any related qualifications from a recognised institution
- A diploma in Special and Inclusive Education from registered and recognised institutions.
- A score of 50% in English or French and other three subjects
- LLN skill level at Band 5 of the National Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Framework
- Lack high school qualifications but have gained considerable experience in the fields of general education, special education and inclusive education. Persons with disabilities who have considerable experience will also be considered under special entry. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may apply in line with NUV Accreditation of Prior Learning policies and procedures.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) are available and follow the NUV Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedures. Students will be advised how to apply for RPL and CT and how they will be supported when making the application
- Applicants who are unable to meet the above academic entry requirements, but who have adequate relevant professional experience, who meet the LLN entry requirements, and who can demonstrate an ability to study at this level, may be allowed entry upon approval from the NUV Registrar.
